Week One
April 2nd to the 5th
|
1. This is the first week of the fourth and last grading period. It is also a short week with Friday off. We will continue our study of the stars and galaxies. Students will receive their Report Cards on Thursday of this week.
2. On Monday we will go over the Force test.
3. Thursday will be Report Cards and I will try to cover enough words for a vocabulary quiz.

Week Two
(April 9th to 13th)
|
1. This is a full week of school and students should show their signed report card to the 8th period teacher. In science we will continue our study of stars and galaxies. Also we will start a rocket lab that will run to the end of the grading period with rocket launches during the last week of school. Students will learn some rocket science, build a real model rocket, and launch them as a cooperative team.
2. To help get and idea of the rocket lab activities students have a checklist to keep track of where they are anytime in the lab process. Students will be taking rocket lab tests as they complete and learn the information. These tests will count as a full major science test on the academic test side of their grade.
3. Friday will be the usual vocabulary quiz.

Week Three
(April 16 th to 20th)
|
1. This week we will complete the Stars and Galaxies material and have a test on it. We will also work in the rocket lab on and off and start the second section on astronomy that covers our sun and what it is like.
2. Tuesday will be the Study Sheet for the Stars and Galaxies test.
3. Wednesday we will grade the Study Sheet.
4. Thursday will be the Stars & Galaxies test.
5. Friday will be the weekly vocabulary quiz.

Week Four
(April 23rd to 27)
|
We continue the study of astronomy and a new chapter on the Sun. Our Rocket lab activities will continue. Students have been taking tests on Inertia and Action-Reaction. After these tests they will begin the building of their model rocket.
1. On Monday I will return the Star/Galaxy test.
2. Friday will be the usuall vocabulary quiz.

Week Five
(April 30th to May 4th)
|
1. This is a Progress Report week. We will complete our study of the sun this week and start the geology of the earth's minerals. Friday will be shortened class periods for the Activity Day. This is a one hour reward time for students that have had good behavior for the last several weeks.
2. Monday grade the Asteroid questions.
3. Tuesday start Our Mr. Sun video questions.
4. Wednesday is Progress Reports.
5. Friday is a Vocabulary Quiz and also Activity Day.

Week Six
(May 7th to 11th)
|
1. A full week that includes a test on our study of the sun. We will start a study of the earth's minerals and rocks which will run to the end of the school year. During this same time we continue the rocket lab which will culminate in a cooperative learning experience of launching the rockets.
2. Monday - Grade the Our Mr. Sun questions.
3. Tuesday - Sun Test
4. Friday will be the usual vocabulary quiz.

Week Seven
(May 14th to 18th)
|
1. Another full week with our continued study of Geology and Minerals. Also the rocket lab continues with testing and the construction of a real model rocket. Students that are falling behind in the lab should come in the catch up.
2. I am available to students after school this week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
3. Friday is the usual vocabulary quiz. We will have quiz #6.

Week Eight
(May 21st to 25th)

1. We continue our study of Geology and Minerals of the earth. Also the Rocket lab work progresses with launches planned during the last week of school. Students should start making up any work that is missing including the notes.
2. Monday start the mineral lab.
3. Friday is the usual vocabulary quiz.

Week Nine
(May 28th to June 1st)
|
1. This week we will complete our study of the mineral chapter and take a test on the information. Notebooks for the 4th grading period are due this week. There will be no more vocabulary quizzes as I try to complete the year.
2. Tuesday - complete the mineral lab.
3. Wednesday - complete the mineral chapter and grade the mineral lab.
4. Thursday - grade the study sheet.
5. Friday - Mineral Test and the last day for any make-up work. (No more vocabulary quizzes.)

Week Ten
(June 4th to the 8th
plus June 11th)
|
1. This is the last week of the grading period and year. We will complete the rocket lab and launch rockets as student launch teams. The last two days will be the final exam. All work for the 4th grading period must completed by Thursday June 7th.
2. Monday - Rocket lab time, and choosing a launch job. Students should be completing the construction of their rockets and taking lab tests.
3. Tuesday - Rocket lab time and learning a launch job.
4. Wednesday - Rocket lab and launches.
5. Thursday - The end of the 4th grading period.
6. Friday - Final Exam / part 1.
7. Monday (June 11th) - Final Exam / part 2.
